Toddler Chef

We started Toddler Chef Sept 2008 as my Daughter Annalise is a very cautious eater, she will not eat anything she does not trust.  Toddler Chef has worked wonders for her confidence with food.  I cant tell you what an achievement it felt when she licked a tomato or tried peas (and then proceeded to eat a cup full!!!).

It's also great for mums (and dads) to help think up fun & creative ways of incorporating healthy foods into fun meals or snacks - like Cougette scones or home made pizza bread!  And I would never have thought making your own pesto sauce was so easy!!  A brilliant activity to do with your wee one, you will both learn a lot!!"

Don't forget, unlike many other groups and classes, Toddler Chef doesn't shut down at Half-Term (we figured Half Term is when you most need to occupy the little people!).

We charge £5 per session per (first) child – with a discount for second children (i.e. twins / siblings) who are charged at £3 each. Siblings who are not taking part (ie babies!) are of course free and welcome to come along too! Fees are paid termly, in advance. This is because we need to plan ahead in setting up equipment and of course buying in food. Don't forget the fees include your child bringing home their very own lunch, dinner or snack - made in class!

For newcomers, there is also a one-off registration fee of £10 per child – this includes a Toddler Chef T-shirt plus a cookery apron, along with the weekly newsletter. We don't charge any extra for our field trips - this is all part of the programme!

Should you wish to join mid-way through an existing term that's already started, that's fine. You can simply pay from when you start.

We do advise that you enable your child to attend classes for at least a year. It does take time to inspire kids to eat healthily - as well as help remove any 'food fears' they may have. If your child absolutely refuses to eat vegetables, it may take longer than a term before they are happily munching on carrots and brocolli! Likewise, as with adults, there will be some foods that your child will always dislike - and we need time to differentiate between food refusal and a genuine dislike of something.
